How did you spend your Saturday? A MUST READ!

Raise your hand if your Saturday's are sacred!!  My hand is way up in the air!  I try to make Saturday a day to sleep in, relax and try not to think about school (I save that for Sunday nights!).  So, when the option to attend an all day training on Picture Perfect Science was offered, my first instinct was to scream say NO!  However, what is the one thing a teacher likes more than sleep and relaxation??  Something for free!!  Those who attended the workshop were given the book Picture Perfect Science Lessons and $100.  I said yes.  I am so glad that I gave up my Saturday to listen to Emily Morgan speak about using children's books to teach science.  The workshop was so engaging and informative.  Emily did several lessons from her books.  She has a book geared towards grades 3-6 and one geared towards grades K-4.  They were so much fun and I can't wait to use them in my classroom.  We have such little time to teach science that I am always looking for ways to fit it in to my day.  Her lessons are organized using the 5 Es Instructional Model and reading strategies are embedded throughout!  If you'd like to check out her books, you can click on the links below!!  You won't regret it!

  1. How DEVOTED are you! Thank you for the tips, sadly, there isn't as much time as we'd like for Science. We need this!
